YellOwStaR Retires from Competitive League of Legends

After more than three and a half years playing as a member of Fnatic, YellOwStaR retires from his competitive League of Legends career.

Fnatic announced today that Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim will be retiring from League of Legends competitive play, after playing in six seasons over the space of three and a half years with Fnatic. After joining Fnatic at the beginning of the first LCS season as an AD Carry, YellOwStaR helped Fnatic take down teams such as Gambit and Evil Geniuses in playoffs. Despite this, YellOwStaR decided to change his role from ADC to support in 2013. This arguably led to his most definitive years, especially when paired with Martin “Rekkles” Larsson.

When becoming a support, it quickly became apparent that YellOwStaR was able to create plays to rival even the best support players. Known for his incredible stuns in team fights as Annie, or his astonishing Baron steal in the EU LCS Summer Split of 2014 as Morgana, YellOwStaR has had a massive influence on Fnatic as a team. Fnatic even managed to earn a perfect 18-0 Summer Split in 2015, and YellOwStaR earned himself MVP honors to celebrate his amazing performance.

It is without a doubt a shame seeing YellOwStaR leave the competitive scene, but he has definitely had a career worth celebrating. YellOwStaR has had a legendary gaming career, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
