The Jokers in Balatro are critical to how you build the deck and how far you progress through the game. The type of Jokers you add to your arsenal determine the type of deck you’re going to build and how you play each hand.

All Joker unlock requirements in Balatro

There are 150 Jokers you can get in Balatro, but not all of them have unlock requirements. The cards listed below all have a specific unlock requirement. Expect to use them in particular decks as you also unlock those.

Joker	Rarity	Unlock Requirements	Effect
Acrobat	Uncommon	Play 200 hands.	You receive x3 Multiplier on the final hand of the round.
Arrowhead	Uncommon	You must have at least 30 Spade cards in your deck.	All played cards with the Spade suit give plus 50 Chips when scored.
Astronomer	Uncommon	You have to discover every Planet card.	All Planet cards and Celestial packs in the shop are now free.
Bloodstone	Uncommon	You must have at least 30 Heart cards in your deck.	You have a one-in-three chance to play cards with the Heart suit to give you an x2 multiplier when scored.
Blueprint	Rare	Win a run.	This Joker copies the effect of the Joker to its right.
Bootstraps	Uncommon	You must have at least two Polychrome Jokers.	You receive a plus two Multiplier for every five dollars you have.
Brainstorm	Rare	Discard a Royal Flush.	This Joker copies the leftmost Joker.
Burnt Joker	Uncommon	You have to sell 50 cards.	You upgrade the level of the first discarded poker hand each round.
Canio	Legendary	There’s a chance to get Canio when you use a Soul Spectral card.	Receive a x1 Multiplier when a face card is destroyed.
Cartomancer	Uncommon	You have to discover every Tarot card.	Create a Tarot whenever a Blind is selected, if there is room for one.
Cavendish	Common	The Joker only appears when Gros Michel was destroyed during your run.	You get a x3 Multiplier, but there’s a one in 1,000 chance this card is now destroyed at the end of the round.
Certificate	Uncommon	Have a Gold card that also has a Gold Seal on it.	Now, when a round begins, add a random Playing Card with a random Seal to your hand.
Chicot	Legendary	There’s a chance to get Chicot when you use a Soul Spectral card.	This prevents the effect of any Boss Blind.
Driver’s License	Rare	Enhance 16 or more cards in your deck during a run.	You receive a x3 Multiplier if you have at least 16 enhanced cards in your deck.
Flower Pot	Uncommon	You have to reach ante eight.	You get a x3 Multiplier if the played hand has a scoring Diamond, Club, Heart, and Spade card.
Glass Joker	Uncommon	You must have at least five or more Glass cards in your deck.	You receive a 0.5x Multiplier for each Glass that is destroyed during your run.
Golden Ticket	Common	Play a five-card hand that only has Gold cards.	All played Gold cards give you three dollars when scored.
Hanging Card	Common	You have to beat a Boss Blind with a High Card hand.	You can now retrigger the first played card used in scoring.
Hit the Road	Rare	You discard five Jacks at the same time.	You receive a x0.5 Multiplier for every Jack discarded this round.
Invisible Joker	Rare	Win a run without having more than four Jokers in your possession.	After three rounds, you can sell this Joker to duplicate a random Joker.
Matador	Uncommon	You have to defeat a Boss Blind in one hand, without using Discards	You receive eight dollars if the played hand triggers the Boss Blind’s ability.
Merry Andy	Uncommon	Win a run in 12 or fewer rounds.	You receive at least three more discards, but lose a hand size.
Mr. Bones	Uncommon	You have to lose five runs.	It prevents death if your Chips scored are at least 25 percent of the value required to beat the Blind. The card self destructs.
Onyx Agate	Uncommon	You must have at least 30 Club cards in your deck.	All played cards with the Club suit give you a plus eight Multiplier when scored.
Opps! All 6s	Uncommon	Earn at least 10,000 Chips in a single hand.	You now double all probabilities.
Perkeo	Legendary	There’s a chance to get Perkeo when you use a Soul Spectral card.	You create a Negative copy of a random Consumable that you have when you’re in a shop.
Rough Gem	Uncommon	You must have at least 30 Diamond cards in your deck.	All Played cards with the Diamond suit give you a dollar when scored.
Satellite	Uncommon	You must have at least $400.	You gain a dollar at the end of each round for every unique Planet card used during your run.
Seeing Double	Uncommon	You must play a hand that contains four seven of Clubs.	You get a x2 Multiplier if the played hand has a scoring Club card, and a scoring card of any other suit.
Shoot the Moon	Common	Play every Heart card in your deck during one round.	You get a +13 Multiplier for each Queen in your hand.
Snowman	Uncommon	You have to reach ante four.	There’s a chance for Joker, Tarot, Planet, and Spectral cards to appear multiple times.
Smeared Joker	Uncommon	You have to have three or more Wild cards in your deck.	Hearts and Diamonds count as the same suit moving forward. Spades and Clubs count as the same suit moving forward.
Sock and Buskin	Uncommon	Play 300 Face cards.	You can now retrigger all Face cards an additional time.
Stuntman	Uncommon	You have to earn at least 100 million Chips in a single hand.	= +300 Chips. Lose two hand size.
Swashbuckler	Common	You have to sell 20 Joker cards.	You can now add the Sell value of all Jokers left of this card to increase your Multiplier.
The Duo	Rare	You have to win a run without playing a Pair.	You receive a x2 Multiplier if the played hand contains a Pair.
The Family	Rare	You have to win a run without playing a Four-of-a-Kind hand.	Receive a x4 Multiplier when your scoring hand has a Four-of-a-Kind
The Idol	Uncommon	You must earn at least one million Chips in a single hand.	You receive a x2 Multiplier when you play a specific card, but the specific card changes each round.
The Order	Rare	You have to win a run without playing a Straight hand.	You receive a x3 Multiplier when your scoring hand has a Straight.
The Tribe	Rare	You must win a run without playing a Flush hand.	You receive a x2 Multiplier when your scoring hand has a Flush.
The Trio	Rare	You have to win a run without playing a Three-of-a-Kind.	You receive a x3 Multiplier if the played hand contains a Three-of-a-Kind.
Throwback	Uncommon	Continue a save run from the Main Menu.	You receive a x0.25 Multiplier for each Blind skipped this run.
Triboulet	Legendary	There’s a chance to get Triboulet when you use a Soul Spectral card.	You get a x2 Multiplier when you play a King and Queen when scoring.
Troubadour	Uncommon	You have to win five consecutive rounds by playing only a single hand in each.	Your hand size increases by two, but you lose one hand per round.
Wee Joker	Rare	Win a run in 18 or fewer rounds.	You receive plus two Chips when each played two is scored.
Yorick	Legendary	There’s a chance to get Yorick when you use a Soul Spectral card.	You get a x5 Multiplier, but only after you use 23 discards during your run.
