DreamHack Showdown will feature eight teams during DreamHack Valencia in July: two will be invited and the rest will play qualifiers from Europe, North America, and Asia. Every region gets two slots for the event.

Marcus Lindmark, co-CEO at DreamHack AB, hopes the event inspires more female players. “DreamHack Showdown is a step to help create inspirational moments for aspiring female esports competitors worldwide,” he said.

DreamHack Showdown will be the third big event dedicated to women’s CS:GO community in 2019. Both the Intel Challenge Katowice and the WESG World Finals Female were played last March, alongside the IEM Katowice Major and the WESG World Finals.

Lindmark said DreamHack stresses inclusivity in its events. “We aim to be the esports and gaming festival where all groups feel welcome.”

The DreamHack Showdown will be played from July 5 to 7. Teams can sign up for the regional qualifiers through the event website.
