Shaped like a futuristic scythe, Apex Legend‘s Serpent Sting moves the kill counter from the feed and etches it into the blade as you battle for the number one spot.
Here’s how to unlock the Serpent’s Sting Heirloom in Apex Legends.
Apex Legends: How to unlock the Serpent’s Sting
The Serpent’s Sting is another universal Heirloom in Apex, and is exclusive to the Space Hunt Event. While many characters remain Heirloom-less, the Serpent’s Sting joins the list as a melee weapon that can be equipped on any legend. The only way to unlock the Serpent’s Sting is to unlock it via the Space Hunt Event Packs.
The cost of these packs is currently unknown, but prices will naturally be revealed on Sept. 17 (when the event drops). Previous events had prices ranging from 700 to 1,800 Apex Coins, with exclusive items like the Death Box skin totaling to a whopping $290. While we can’t imagine Respawn will go down this same path, the total cost of the Serpent’s Sting depends purely on luck.
There are 36 collection event cosmetics. While the Space Hunt Packs cannot hold duplicate items, it’s highly likely you will have to pay for multiple packs before obtaining the new universal Heirloom. Each pack includes one event item and two standard items, meaning you could purchase all 36 packs before unlocking the Serpent’s Sting. It isn’t required of you to complete the collection event to earn the Serpent’s Sting.
The Serpent’s Sting also includes customization options. These are separate purchases to the Heirloom itself. Examples of these are kill counters and wanted targets that appear on the Serpent’s Sting as you inspect.
The Space Hunt Event has limited-time offers. This limitation includes the Serpent’s Sting. The latest universal Heirloom will only be available from Sept. 17 to Oct. 8, the duration of the Space Hunt Event. You cannot purchase the Serpent’s Sting once this collection event concludes.
