WoW The War Within adds the usual slew of challenging PvE content, and a few core systems are returning, too. One of them is The Catalyst—an important interactable workbench in Dornogal where you can transform certain armor pieces into tier set pieces using Harmonized Silk.
If you’re wondering how to get Harmonized Silk, how often you can get it, or how to use it, you’re in the right place.
How to get Harmonized Silk in WoW The War Within
In WoW The War Within, you get one Harmonized Silk every two weeks for 16 weeks, for a total of eight Harmonized Silk in season one. Harmonized Silk automatically appears when you interact with The Catalyst—it doesn’t go under your currencies tab or in your inventory, and you don’t need to do anything to collect it.
The first Harmonized Silk became available on Sept. 10 (or Sept. 11 in EU regions). Subsequent Harmonized Silk will become available on the following dates (plus one for the EU):
- Sept. 24, 2024
- Oct. 8, 2024
- Oct. 22 2024
- Nov. 5, 2024
- Nov. 19, 2024
- Dec. 3, 2024
- Dec. 17, 2024
- Dec. 31, 2024
You can store up all eight Harmonized Silk if you don’t spend any, but once season two starts, you’ll need a new currency to use The Catalyst, and transforming season one items will become free.
How to use Harmonized Silk in WoW The War Within
To use Harmonized Silk in The War Within, simply interact with The Catalyst at coordinates 50.0, 54.3 in Dornogal. If you have an armor piece on the Veteran upgrade track or higher that matches a tier slot—head, shoulders, chest, pants, or gloves—you can transform it into a tier set piece. This consumes one Harmonized Silk.
In the image above, you can see I’m about to transform my level 584 Veteran shoulders into the Druid season one tier set shoulders, Maw of the Greatlynx. With Harmonized Silk, assembling a whole tier set is easy even if you don’t play that often, especially combined with your weekly Vault items from dungeons, Delves, or raids.
