How to get the 10th-anniversary armor set in Destiny 2

This is a throwback to one of the earliest pieces of concept art of Destiny ever shown.

Destiny 2 has turned 10 and Bungie celebrated with a small, nostalgic in-game party—including an armor set made specifically for the 10th anniversary.

This armor set brings some of Destiny’s oldest pieces of art to life. They hark back to old concept art for the first installment in the franchise and are among “the first Destiny armor sets ever seen publicly,” Bungie wrote in a blog post.

Luckily for guardians, getting the new armor set is a simple, straightforward avenue, as long as they’re willing to go on a short scavenger hunt. Here’s where you can find it in Destiny 2.

How to unlock the 10th-anniversary armor sets in Destiny 2

The 10th-anniversary armor sets are available after finding all five of Cayde’s stashes in the Pale Heart. Each chest grants you one specific armor piece that drops at the highest level in your account. This allowed us to easily get a set of 2000 gear on our alts.

Do you need to transmog the 10th-anniversary armor set?

While you get individual pieces from Cayde’s stashes, you don’t need to spend your Synthweave to transform the set into ornaments. Redeeming the associated triumph from the Legend title tab unlocks the rest of the objectives, which include grabbing armor ornaments from the Special Deliveries Kiosk.

This means you can unlock the 10th-anniversary armor set as ornaments with no extra charges or resources, receiving it as a small gift from Bungie. This is helpful since the remaining challenges for the Legend title include using a full set of armor or ornaments. If, like me, you didn’t get lucky with the armor rolls, you can just equip your regular armor and put an ornament over it. The downside is you seemingly can’t use an Exotic if you’re aiming for the Legend title.

The objectives for the Legend title are also throwbacks to some points in Destiny history—the most storied, of course, being the Cosmodrome loot cave from Destiny, which got its own homage as the entrance to the Grasp of Avarice dungeon in the sequel.
