Harry Potter Quidditch Champions features a myriad of roles, but none are as unique as the Beater. As a Beater, you need to get your hands dirty. Each team has one Beater whose responsibility is to create chaos and challenge the enemy team. Unlike other Quidditch players, the Beater is equipped with a bat, which they can use to hit their Bludger and knock other enemy players out. They aren’t concerned with the Quaffle, so they can’t score points.

Here’s everything you need to know about Beaters in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions.

To understand Beaters in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions, we’ll break the role into three parts. You should adopt these strategies during various phases of the match:

1) Offensive

While your teammates rally together to secure points, make the enemy’s life harder by hitting them with the Bludger. You can summon the Bludger by pressing E or Y/Triangle on a controller. You have to lock onto an enemy by closing the distance with the player, and keep your eyes stable. Then, left-click to launch the Bludger and hit players to temporarily stun them.

This is especially useful when you’re dealing with enemy Chasers who are about to score a point, or Seekers who are laser-focused on pursuing the Golden Snitch. You can also use it against the enemy Keeper to take them down and make it easier for your team to score points.

Your Bludger has a blue trail around it, which makes it easier to spot, and the enemy beater’s Bludger has a red trail around it. Once the Bludger hits an enemy, it stuns them and takes away a portion of their health.

If you hit them twice, it knocks them off their broomstick and kicks them off the field for around 15 to 20 seconds, which is great for mounting a comeback. You can also use the usual tackle to wear down your opponents.

Be precise with your bludger shots!

Keep in mind that players can also dodge your Bludger attacks by timing it right, or you can sometimes miss your shots due to the enemy’s erratic movement. Make sure to always lead your shot and allocate enough time for the Bludger to reach the target before they move out of the way.

2) Defensive

If you’re being a nuisance to the enemy team, chances are the enemy Beater is doing the same to yours. You can either choose to pursue an aggressive playstyle and ignore your team, or get defensive to safeguard your team against the enemy Beater’s attacks.

To protect your Chasers or Seekers, simply locate the enemy Beater and look out for when they charge their Bludgers. If you can guess where they’re about to shoot based on their positioning, use your boost and bat to intercept the Bludger by pressing E or Y/Triangle on a controller, and protect your team. You can also use their incoming Bludger to hit their team, which is essentially a counter-attack.

3) Snitch Duty

When the Golden Snitch appears, and Seekers start their chase, your job is similar—but instead of hunting the Snitch, you need to hunt the enemy Seeker. The Seekers are represented with an eye symbol and are usually going very fast, thanks to boosts. It’s very hard to time your Bludgers to hit a Seeker, so make sure to use them at extreme ends of the pitch. Watch for when Seekers are about to turn and catch the Snitch, and when they slow down, hit them hard, and let your Seeker get closer to the Golden Snitch.

While you attend to these three duties, you also have to understand the match’s state and your team’s priority to effectively choose your targets and make it easier for your team to score points.
