Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s integration into Warzone will bring wholesale changes to the battle royale game, on top of weapons, operators, and other new content.
While Black Ops 6 launches on Oct. 25, its integration into Warzone won’t come until season one of BO6, which will likely take place around the beginning of December. This includes the newly revealed Warzone-specific Mastery camos, but that’s just the beginning of new features and content coming to the game soon.
The BO6 Warzone variant will be something of a simplification, otherwise known as a continuation of the rollback to repair the harm that was done to the game by the Warzone 2.0 launch in 2022. Yet another feature being changed is the inventory system, which will be streamlined to be similar to Warzone 1’s and ditching 2.0’s backpack system completely.
Without the need for backpacks, Warzone will be getting Armor and Munition Satchels, which will allow players to expand the amount of armor and ammo they can carry on their person, respectively.
The game will also now use a dedicated melee weapon that players can swap to when they need to move faster with infinite Tactical Sprint capabilities. Previously, players would build a secondary weapon with high mobility to move across wide-open areas of maps to keep themselves on the go.
Ranked Battle Royale is coming back, too, alongside the Season One Reloaded update, which will most likely come in early 2025. During the Modern Warfare 3 season, Ranked BR was shelved in favor of Ranked Resurgence, and players have been missing it ever since.
Along with the new Resurgence map Area 99 and a return to Verdansk in 2025, it’s looking like Warzone is headed in the right direction once again.
