Guangzhi is one of the first boss fights in Black Myth: Wukong. He’s a Yaoguai Chief, and you encounter him in a compound in the Forest of Wolves. This whole area is a maze with no map or compass, so it can be difficult to know where to go after you’ve beaten him.
Your main reward for defeating Guangzhi in Black Myth: Wukong is the Red Tides spell, which you get by taking his double-ended flaming staff and which allows you to transform into Guangzhi. You also get a Spark, a Stone Spirit, and a lot of Will. But then there isn’t a way out of his compound except for the way you came in, so it’s not like he was blocking your progress. So, what now?
What to do after defeating Guangzhi in Black Myth Wukong
Before you leave Guanzhi’s compound, collect the various resources dotted around, and ring the bell. The bell won’t have an immediate effect, but it’s one of three bells that unlock a secret later. The second bell is near Guangmou, and the third is on a side path after you beat the Whiteclad Noble.
Next, leave the compound the same way you came in. You can continue exploring the Forest of Wolves if you want to, but if you’d rather progress with the main story, turn to the left and follow the path. You soon come to a clearing patrolled by a dude with a really big head. This is the Wandering Wight, and you should almost certainly just run past him at this point.
It is possible to defeat the Wandering Wight at this early stage, but it isn’t necessary (I still haven’t defeated it). I would suggest progressing at least as far as defeating Guangmou so you can absorb the Spirit that the Wandering Wight drops when defeated. Even then, the Wandering Wight won’t be an easy fight.
So, for now, just run past the Wandering Wight and into the cave beyond it. You might still take some damage, but you should at least survive. Beyond that cave, there’s a series of wooden walkways and then a path that leads to Guanyin Temple, which is where you’ll find the next Keeper’s Shrine. Here, you can craft armor for the first time, and I recommend you do, because up next is Lingxuzi, the first big boss in the game—and you can’t skip or run past him.
