Alongside champion changes, skin additions, and the impending release of Yuumi, Riot Games is also altering a bunch of items, which promises to throw a wrench in the works for two champions in particular: Master Yi and Vayne.

Guinsoo’s Rageblade has been nerfed into the ground, which directly affects Yi and Vayne. Rageblade gave too much power to champions whose abilities naturally align with the frequency of Phantom Hits. As such, Riot is decreasing the frequency of Phantom Hits from every two hits to three. To compensate for this loss, armor and magic penetration will be increased and flattened across the board.

Rageblade isn’t the only item that’s being hit, however. Essence Reaver is also receiving some changes in the latest patch. Its attack damage has been increased to give Essence Reaver’s core users more motivation to consider it as their main attack damage option, instead of purchasing two Infinity Edges like some Jhin players have been doing lately.

Other item changes in this patch include Hunter’s Talisman, which will now allow the attacks from champions’ pets to apply burn. Runic Echoes is also receiving a cost decrease.
