DBD players think the Xenomorph could use a ‘fun change’ to become more viable

The Xenomorph is a solid Killer that could use some extra "oomf" in its kit.

The Xenomorph is one of the many Dead by Daylight Killers born out of collaborations but has been sidelined for quite a while. Players are now discussing whether it could use a buff or change to make it more viable and fun to play.

The discussion is ongoing in an Aug. 11 Reddit thread that attracted over a hundred players pitching in their ideas regarding the Xenomorph‘s current state. One user suggested that the Killer doesn’t require any sort of rebalancing, instead saying it could use a “fun change” like an option to toggle between crawling on all fours and standing upright. “I find it more fun towering over the survivors,” they added. Another user said the Xenomorph’s original chase music was much better than what we got, particularly due to its nod to the Nostromo ship of the Alien movies.

Other users in the thread generally noted how the turret system, which is supposed to counter the Xenomorph’s tunnelling, makes its gameplay loop often quite frustrating. The turrets divert the Killer’s attention and can sometimes be quite abusive with the right Survivor comp that knows where and how to use them. “Turrets feel so oppressive,” writes another, adding how they “take all attention away from chases.” If the turrets were to get nerfed (or the Xenomorph buffed), paired with more stealth mechanics, this Killer might just get its place under the sun.

As things stand, it can be quite a fun Killer to play, especially compared to some of the others. Its existing mechanics, through the use of tunnels and perks that show where Survivors are standing above ground, are genuinely fantastic, though there are a few things lacking in its base kit that could potentially be bumped up a bit.
