Vehicles, buttons, and the camera all being fixed as Once Human devs listen to feedback

Once Human is about to become even better.

Starry Studios is listening to Once Human players again, this time bringing a whole shopping list of long-requested changes. Doors not opening, cluttered HUDs, customized keybinds, and audio optimizations are all on the menu, as is solutions to the ongoing server instability as well as account-wide cosmetics.

Since Once Human launched on July 9, players have had a lot to say. They’ve complained about everything from its lack of a first-person perspective to its poor multiplayer experience, with the post-apocalyptic title’s messy in-game user interface popping up as a big issue multiple times recently. The developers appear to have taken all this to heart and have now responded by promising just about every update they can ship.

The biggest things being promised, as per a developer blog shared by the Once Human team on Aug. 3, include everything from a mouse-wheel weapon switching to a toggle that switches off tool-tips while entering and exiting territories. HUD modules are also being updated, as are interactions with doors.

Beyond these gameplay changes, things are also going to be reworked in the sound department and the Once Human radio will get more music in the near future.

While most fixes are now being cooked up at Starry Studios, some changes have actually already been implemented. Once Human players got their hands on a feature that can change keybinds in an Aug. 1 update, alongside motion blur reduction.

There’s no official timeline on when we can expect the rest of these changes. While many are highly-requested, the Once Human team is prioritizing server stability over everything else—with that update actually being delayed to mid-August already. Once it goes live, the rest of the changes should follow within months.

For now, we’ll just have to bear with some of these issues and wait until the Starry devs release a clear timeframe for when we can expect the fixes to drop.
