This week’s Tavern Brawl is the Showdown at Blackrock Mountain. If the Brawl sounds familiar, it’s because you’ve probably seen it a handful of times. This is the fifth time the Brawl has been featured in Hearthstone, with the most recent being March 7, 2018.

The Brawl is played within the Wild format, but players won’t have to worry about doing any deck building. For the Showdown at Blackrock Mountain, players will start the game as either Nefarian or Ragnaros. Both heroes come with pre-built Wild decks designed to support their own unique Hero Powers. Ragnaros has a Hero Power that allows you to summon a 5/1 Magma Rager. Nefarian’s, on the other hand, adds a random spell to your hand and reduces its cost to zero.

The key to winning as either Nefarian or Ragnaros is maximizing the use of your Hero Power and recognizing the synergies within each character’s deck. Since Nefarian is a Dragon, his deck is full of Dragons and cards with Dragon-related effects. The same can be said for Ragnaros, except his deck focuses on Elementals instead of Dragons.

Players will be awarded a free Classic card pack for winning the Brawl, so even if you don’t enjoy Wild, it may be worth your time. You have until the end of this weekend to take part in the Showdown at Blackrock Mountain, so make sure to play and earn that free pack while you can.
