Bjergsen busts out Lux against Team Liquid in the 2019 LCS Spring Split finals

You might see this now against Zoe in solo queue.

With a one-game lead over Team Liquid in the 2019 LCS Spring Split finals, TSM mid laner Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg brought out his Zoe counter in the mage Lux.

Last played in North America by Henrik “Froggen” Hansen on Echo Fox during the 2017 spring promotion tournament, Lux was the second counter to Zoe seen during this LCS final following Nicolaj Jensen’s mid lane Heimerdinger. While Jensen’s Heimerdinger failed to impress, Bjergsen’s Lux proved quite effective.

Paired with the popular Sona-Taric bot lane, Bjergsen’s Lux played a similar role to Zoe in teamfights. Bjergsen stayed a safe distance away, chucking damage while trying to land a snare with Lux’s Light Binding, just like Zoe with her Sleepy Trouble Bubble.

Bjergsen’s coordination with jungler Matthew “Akaadian” Higginbotham’s Hecarim also proved fearsome. Using his Onslaught of Shadows ultimate, Akaadian set Bjergsen up for perfect Final Sparks, which nearly killed Team Liquid’s carries.

Despite his high damage output, though, Bjergsen wasn’t the star of game two in the finals. That honor went to TSM top laner Sergen “Broken Blade” Çelik. On the late game menace in Irelia, Broken Blade dashed his way through Team Liquid in teamfights, supported by the stat buffs coming from Sona and Taric. All Bjergsen needed to do was continue to throw out damage, while getting as many enemies snared as possible.

Liquid were unable to overcome TSM’s play on the Sona-Taric composition and dropped their second-consecutive game of the series. TSM are now on match point in the 2019 LCS Spring Split finals.
