Marvel Rivals characters: All confirmed and rumored characters in Marvel’s 6-vs-6 shooter

Which hero are you excited to try first?

Marvel and NetEase’s new six-versus-six Marvel Rivals shooter takes inspiration from Overwatch, but there’s a huge difference as we take control of heroes from the Marvel universe and battle it out.

The official Marvel Rivals trailer got people excited, but now the closed alpha has dialed up the hype to 100. We finally know for certain know who is included in the game—along with rumored heroes via a datamine— and even more characters are likely to come in the future as the game expands.

Here’s who you can play as in Marvel Rivals.

All confirmed characters in Marvel Rivals

19 heroes are confirmed in Marvel Rivals, and we’ve seen every character courtesy of the shooter’s closed alpha release. Hela was the most recent addition to the Marvel Rivals roster, with the inclusion of the Goddess of Death announced on social media on April 25.

Here’s every hero you can use in Marvel Rivals so far:

  • Black Panther
  • Bruce Banner / Hulk
  • Doctor Strange
  • Groot (Guardians of the Galaxy)
  • Hela
  • Iron Man
  • Loki
  • Luna Snow (New Agents of Atlas)
  • Magik (X-Men)
  • Magneto (X-Men)
  • Mantis (Guardians of the Galaxy)
  • Namor
  • Peni Parker (Spider-Verse)
  • Rocket Raccoon (Guardians of the Galaxy)
  • Scarlet Witch (X-Men)
  • Spider-Man
  • Star-Lord (Guardians of the Galaxy)
  • Storm (X-Men)
  • The Punisher

There are some obvious omissions from this Marvel heroes list, including comic book heavyweights like Wolverine, Captain America, Black Widow, and others, so expect to see these big-name characters added to the list down the track—perhaps even as DLC.

In the trailer, certain heroes are able to combine for team-up attacks, like Hulk and Iron Man, or Rocket and Groot, so team compositions look like they may be very important beyond the basic roles.

Hero classes in Marvel Rivals and what they mean

Like Overwatch, each hero is given a class in Marvel Rivals. As seen in previously leaked images, a specific symbol sits to the right of each hero’s name, while a filter box by class appears at the top of the screen.

We now know that Vanguards (Tanks), Strategists (Support), and Duelists (DPS) are the three main classes in Marvel Rivals. Learning the meta and figuring out the best heroes will take time, but that’s all part of the fun!
