The organization formerly known as Phoenix1 welcomed streamer Morgan “Payne” Redfield Jr. and former Overwatch competitors Nathan “xretzi” Telen and Jared “zombs” Gitlin to its Apex team, which will debut at the Twitch Rivals Road to TwitchCon event today at 4:30pm CT.

Payne took home second place during the first Twitch Rivals Apex Legends Challenge, but has competed in Fortnite events as well, most successfully locking down a first-place finish at the Fall Skirmish Series.

Xretzi and zombs competed in Overwatch beginning in 2016. Both DPS players joined Simplicity last February but departed from the team to sign with Skyfoxes later in the year. With the Contenders team, the duo ended season three in January in 11th place.

Sentinels is most well-known for its presence in the professional League of Legends scene, having joined the North American region in 2016 under the Phoenix1 brand. When the league introduced franchising two years later, however, the team failed to make it through the application process and lost its slot in the LCS, rebranding to Sentinels.

The organization entered into an agreement with Kroenke Sports and Entertainment in 2017 to manage the Los Angeles Gladiators Overwatch League team and its academy team, Gladiators Legion. The organization has also signed players in Hearthstone and Fortnite.
