Report: ENCE to acquire suNny as Cloud9 CS:GO talks cease

The Finnish star last played for ENCE in 2016.

It looks like this year’s IEM Katowice Major runner-ups are looking to make a big upgrade to their team for 2019. ENCE is looking to acquire star rifler, Miikka “suNny” Kemppi, according to a report by Jarek “DeKay” Lewis.

There has been a lot of discussion surrounding the future of suNny over the past few weeks, including reports that Cloud9 was in talks to add him to their lineup following the departure of Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro. Sources told DeKay that those talks have now fallen through, and that ENCE is now the front runner to pick up suNny instead.

This wouldn’t be suNny’s first time with the organization, as he has played for ENCE three times during his career. The last time he was on their roster, it was back in 2016. The ENCE lineup looked completely different, and everyone ended up getting released at the end of the year.

Meanwhile, suNny has been with Mousesports since 2017. In that time, he and the team have seen some decent success, with wins at ESL One New York 2018, StarSeries Season 4, and the V4 Future Sports Festival in Budapest.

ENCE has been having a great year so far, and so it makes sense that they are looking to push their team to new heights with a possible upgrade. The player that he would replace is not known at this time, however.

Additionally, ENCE needs to consider how this will affect team chemistry. The team is coming off of one of their most successful runs at a large, international event, and immediately replacing a member could have adverse effects on the lineup.
