PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will soon be implementing a fix for AFK players farming Battle Points (BP), according to the next set of patch notes.
In recent months, players have been employing bots to farm BP. Those points can be used to open up loot crates, that potentially have expensive gear in them and can be traded for real money. The AFK players are simply kicked out of the plane at the end of the flight path, and remain in the game until they are killed by the circle closing.
When the patch goes live however, idle players will no longer be eligible to receive BP.
On top of this news, this week’s update will include a number of features including foggy weather, first-person perspective leaderboards, UI improvements, and a new gun called the Mini-14.
With the Mini-14 added, the tommy gun has been removed from care packages and will now be found throughout the world.
The blog post also offered an update on the vaulting and climbing mechanics that have been teased for a few months.
“The algorithm is quite complex and requires rigorous testing and fine-tuning of the map,” said the blog post. “Testing it for only a couple of days before deployment on the Live servers won’t be enough for us to identify all bugs and side effects. Therefore, we are planning to test it for a longer period of time in early November.
“If needed, we may roll it out on test servers for a certain amount of time even before November. Until then, we will be working on the feature internally.”
As of now, the patch is scheduled to go live on Thursday, with a short run on the test server beginning on Wednesday. You can check out the full list of changes here.
