Professional Apex Legends player NRG Dizzy discovered a potentially game-breaking glitch while in the final round of a match Friday.
With just two squads remaining, Dizzy was dropping into a small outpost northwest of Thunderdome and west of Skull Town. He slowed his descent as he approached the ground, but instead of gliding safely to his landing spot, he was propelled back upwards.
Dizzy was playing on PC as Wraith and seemed to have performed the glitch through specific mouse movements. The first time it occurred, Dizzy was caught off guard and had no idea what was happening.
Shortly after however, he replicated the glitch again as he moved his mouse down towards himself to perform a fast descent while approaching a rooftop, then immediately moved the mouse up to slow the drop speed. Wraith was thrown to the top of the map, far above where any other competitor could reach.
“What? Okay, okay, that’s broken,” Dizzy said after first discovering the glitch. “Like, what? Like, look at this! Look at my arm!” The camera showing Dizzy’s mouse movements showed the viewers how he was able to manually control the rise and fall of Wraith while the glitch was being used.
“No, no, I’m not gonna be doing that. That’s bug abusing. And people that do it will probably get banned,” Dizzy said while he dropped back to the outpost to finish the match.
Although the glitch was interesting to watch and fun for him to use, perhaps Dizzy’s blisteringly fast wipe of an entire squad to win the match is even more entertaining.
