A devastating bugged interaction between Unlicensed Apothecary and Thrall, Deathseer has plagued Hearthstone for a while now—but it’s about to get fixed.
Unlicensed Apothecary, from Hearthsone’s Mean Streets of Gadgetzan set, deals five damage to a player’s hero when a minion is summoned. Playing it with Thrall, Deathseer of the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion has proven very destructive because of that: Thrall, Deathseer transforms a player’s minions into random ones that cost two more. Even though the minions are already summoned, the bug reads “transform” as “summoned” and deals Unlicensed Apothecary’s damage.

And that’s not supposed to happen.
“The Thrall interaction should be fixed in the next patch,” said Hearthsone principal game designer Mike Donais. “The first big patch since Thrall’s release.”
There are a few other cards, like Faceless Manipulator and Druid of the Claw, that trigger Unlicensed Apothecary when they likely shouldn’t, but it’s unclear at this time if those interactions will be fixed in the upcoming patch.
Donais did not explicitly note when the next “big patch since Thrall’s release” will be released.
