Former CoD pro Censor banned from Twitch after saying homophobic, racial slurs

You might say he's been censored.

Call of Duty streamer and former professional player Doug “Censor” Martin has been banned on Twitch today, likely due to multiple recent incidents involving inflammatory and offensive language.

Just last week, Censor used a homophobic slur while in an argument with a player in MW2’s ranked play. And just two days later, he then used a racist slur while in another argument. Today, the ban hammer came down.

After the first incident, Censor put out a video on Twitter to apologize, saying it’s “not something that I stand for or something that I say in my private life, ever.” He has yet to post publicly about the ban.

Censor, who entered some semblance of mainstream fame during his time as the boyfriend of famous Mexican weather girl, model, and actress Yanet Garcia, hasn’t played CoD professionally in a few seasons and has yet to crack an active roster in the CDL. He’s been on the bench for both the New York Subliners and Boston Breach, but most recently, his content has been centered around “catching cheaters” in ranked play.

And now, it looks like he won’t be playing CoD on stream either, at least for a while. It’s unclear how long the ban is for, and as of right now, Censor has not responded to Dot Esports’ request for comment on the situation.

Throughout his 12-plus-year career competing in CoD, Censor has played for organizations such as Envy, FaZe, and Complexity. Most recently, he’s been a content creator for the Breach while playing for the organization’s Boston Academy team in CDL Challengers.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 releases on Nov. 10. It’s unknown if Censor will still be banned for the game’s anticipated launch or if he’ll be online at midnight terrorizing unsuspecting gamers.
