The official Caesar King teaser by HoYoverse revealed she’s a Physical Defense Agent, making her the first character with this Attribute/Specialty combination.

Although not officially confirmed, we can expect Caesar to be one of the featured S-Rank characters in the update 1.2. According to leaks, she has a dedicated W-Engine banner that only S-Rank characters have. Besides, everything in Caesar’s design and background screams she’s an S-Rank.

Caesar abilities in Zenless Zone Zero

Even though she’s a Defense character, Caesar’s kit seemingly involves damage dealing on top of damage mitigation. Caesar’s abilities revolve around using her Special Attack and combining a lot of different moves.

Even though some skill descriptions might be inaccurate due to translations, it’s clear you have to be prepared to use Caesar’s Special Attack and EX Special Attack a lot.

Here are all of Caesar’s abilities in ZZZ:

  • Normal Attack: Performs up to five slashes, dealing physical damage. Hold the Normal Attack button to throw the shield and deal physical damage. When the shield flies back, you can use Special Attacks for a combo.
  • Special Attack: Strike forward to deal physical damage. If you’re hit at the beginning of the move, the skill triggers Precision Block to resist damage and connects to the Straight Stab move. After that, Caesar enters a blocking stance, reducing incoming damage by 40 percent. When attacked, you can then use the Special Attack again to trigger Straight Stab.
  • EX Special Attack: Strike forward to deal physical damage. If you’re hit at the beginning of the move or triggered Break with the attack, the skill triggers Precision Block to resist damage and connects to the Parry and Slash move. After that, Caesar enters a blocking stance, reducing incoming damage by 40 percent. When attacked, you can then use the Special Attack, or if you have enough energy, an EX Special Attack. Using an EX Special Attack connects to Parry and Slash move and then to Super Powerful Slash move, following the same logic.
  • Chain Attack and Ultimate: Both the Chain Attack and Ultimate deal large amounts of physical damage.
  • Dodge: When dodging, use a Normal Attack to deal physical damage. During the move, incoming damage is reduced by 40 percent. If hit, Caesar blocks with the shield, and you can use Special Attack or EX Special Attack to connect to corresponding moves.
  • Assist: After parrying an enemy attack using Assist, you can use a Normal Attack to deal physical damage and activate Special Attack or EX Special Attack to connect to a subsequent move.
  • Passives: When using EX Special Attack: Parry and Slash or Ultimate, Caesar provides the entire team with a shield that lasts for 90 seconds. If there are Agents on the team of the same faction as Caesar or who can activate Defensive Assist (parry), she marks enemies within six meters who then take 25 percent increased damage for 20 seconds.
