Autimatic joins T1’s VALORANT team

It's a nice pickup.

It’s official: Timothy “autimatic” Ta is joining the T1 VALORANT roster, the organization announced today.

Autimatic is a well-known former NA CS:GO player who famously won the ELEAGUE Boston Major with Cloud9 in 2018. That is North America’s only victory in a CS Major. Since then, he’s played with Gen.G, notably winning DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020.

Now, autimatic will be reunited with old C9 teammate Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham.

T1 invested in VALORANT early, signing brax as the esports’ first professional player. Since then, T1 has disappointed and gone through a long series of roster changes. They earned a top-eight placing at First Strike NA after being knocked out in the quarterfinals by 100 Thieves, who eventually won the event.

It’s too early to tell whether autimatic will be what T1 needs to push into the upper echelon of NA VALORANT. The future of the rest of the T1 roster is up in the air, with rumors swirling about the composition of the lineup heading into the next VALORANT Challengers event.
