Does The First Descendant have a trading system?

Are they as generous as their biggest competitor?

The First Descendant draws a lot of inspiration from games like Warframe. Despite being a free-to-play game, Warframe has a trading system that allows non-paying players to get premium currency through trades. What about The First Descendant?

No, The First Descendant doesn’t have a trading system yet. Unlike Warframe, which lets players trade almost everything, the only way to get items in The First Descendant is to farm or buy them with real money.

With that said, the developer confirmed it’s working on adding a trading system to the game. In an interview with GameRant on June 27, when asked about adding a trading system to The First Descendant, the developer Minseok Joo had this to say:

“We’re working on the trading system and how to give things away as well. We’re planning on implementing it once the service stabilizes to the point where we can add it.”

Should you be excited about The First Descendant trading system?

In our opinion, you shouldn’t get too excited about The First Descendant trading system, and you definitely shouldn’t expect a trading system as generous as Warframe’s

When you consider who The First Descendant’s publisher is, the developer will unlikely add a system that might encourage players to spend less money on the game. Nexon has a track record for making MMORPGs considered pay-to-win, such as Maple Story, so it seems highly unlikely a trading system would be as fair as the one in Warframe.

While we are sure the trading system will let players trade components, consumables, and other stuff, we wouldn’t hold our breath about anything beyond that. We’d love to be pleasantly surprised, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens when the trading system gets added.
