You can find several unique items during your time playing Remnant 2. When you embark on The Dark Horizon DLC, there are new locations for you to explore with additional rewards. One item you might not know what to do with is called the Crop Sample.
You can find the Crop Sample while exploring The Dark Horizon DLC, and it offers several rewards based on what you do with it. Knowing how to use it can be confusing, and knowing what reward you should go after first is also challenging. Thankfully, we can point you in the correct direction for every reward. Here’s what you need to know about how to use the Crop Sample in Remnant 2.
All Crop Sample rewards in Remnant 2
You can get several rewards when you acquire the Crop Sample in Remnant 2, which you can find in the Detritus Foundry. These are available downstairs from where you see this item, and you can reach them using the nearby elevator. You can take it downstairs, and from there, you’ll find two statues, a red on the left and a blue on the right. The reward changes based on the statue at which you plant the Crop Sample, and you can constantly refresh your The Dark Horizon adventure to find it again and get the other reward.
Giving the Crop Sample to the red statue on the left spawns an enemy called The Inverted Shambler. You’ll have to fight against it to defeat it, which rewards you with the Repercussion Mutator for your Remnant 2 character. There’s always a chance you might lose this fight and have to battle it again to earn this Mutator. When your weapon has the Repercussion Mutator, every time you use the Primary Fire, it grants a stack of Repercussion, increasing your weapon’s Ranged Damage by three percent. You can stack this five times.
The other reward at the blue statue on the right side gives you a relic called the Gossamer Heart. With it on your Remnant 2 character, it increases the base evade window frame by one. Using the Gossamer Heart relic increases the evade window bonus by another two frames for 15 seconds. This choice leads to no enemies spawning, which is advantageous if hurt during your playthrough.
However, there are other rewards you can do with the Crop Sample. Rather than using it at these statues, you can return to Ward 13 with this item. If you do, speak with the cook stirring the pot next to Reggie. He asked if you could offer another item to spice up his current recipe, and your Remnant 2 could offer up the Crop Sample. If you do, this unlocks the Numbing Agent as a purchasable consumable item moving forward, which increases the number of hits you can take before losing Grey Health by one. The effect lasts for 60 minutes or ends when your character dies.
You do need to wait for this item to appear at Ward 13. You’ll have to return at a later point during your Remnant 2 playthrough to get it.
The final option is to place it in the garden at Ward 13. You can find it in the corner of the garden plot and put it where a Root-like spot is beginning to grow. If you do this, a second item appears here, meaning you must find something else while playing Remnant 2 to see this reward. We’re still working out what this reward could be, but the other three are primary options if you want to grab them before placing another Crop Sample at this location.
