How to get the Berserk sword in Remnant 2 The Dark Horizon DLC

Unleash the strength of a massive greatsword in Remnant 2.

The weapons in Remnant 2 are a notable feature you can acquire throughout your journey of the game. The way you unlock these weapons can be specific, and many are shrouded in mystery. With the arrival of The Dark Horizon DLC, there’s now a Berserk sword.

The weapon isn’t called a Berserk sword, but it is referenced as well, as it is a massive greatsword you can swing around in combat, unleashing this enormous weapon against enemies. The proper name of this weapon is the Black Greatsword, and it becomes available if you have The Dark Horizon DLC. Here’s what you need to know about how to get the Black Greatsword and where it drops while you’re playing Remnant 2.

You can get the Black Greatsword by speaking with Brabus. He’s a vendor who exclusively appears in Ward 13 in Remnant 2. Brabus is one of the primary vendors you can find throughout the base game and DLC of the game and is one you likely have spoken with if there’s a particular weapon you want to add to your arsenal. Brabus typically sells the standard armaments of other starting classes, and for Remnant 2 characters, it’s one you’ll want to speak with when you begin a new character.

You get the Black Greatsword from Brabus by purchasing every available weapon from him. You need to buy his entire stock from him and grab every weapon he has for sale. Regardless of whether you use the items on your Remnant 2 character, you need enough scrap to grab every weapon. After you purchase everyone one, back away from Brabus, and speak with him again. He’ll tell you about the Mud Dogs and remind you about his old crew.

When you next speak with Brabus, he offers you the Black Metal Bars. They’re a crafting material you can take to McCabe, who he says has been eager to get his hands on them for quite some time. He figures your Remnant 2 character is the correct person to use these materials and put them to good use in the future. Brabus won’t give you these materials unless you have The Dark Horizon DLC installed on your machine, which means you need to make sure you have this before you do anything else or try speaking with Brabus about it.

McCabe can craft you for it, but you need to ask her to craft it for you in a series of dialogue choices. It’s not the traditional method, where you tell her, “Brabus said you’d be interested in this,” before you hand over the Black Metal Bars. Unfortunately for players, McCabe can’t immediately craft the weapon for you in Remnant 2. It takes some time for her to produce the sword. You need to go off and work on other things in the game before returning to McCabe and asking if it’s finished.

When she’s finished with the weapon, you can equip it in your melee slot, and it’ll have the Indomitable Strike weapon mod, which allows your charged attacks to become Indomitable, granting 15 percent Damage Reduction and converts all damage to Grey Health, preventing you from becoming staggered.
