With eight teams coming from the Pro League and the remaining four being Challenger squads, it’s going to be an intense minor given the chaotic history of season nine.

Fans will be seeing DarkZero Esports, PENTA Sports, CHAOS, Rise Nation, Team Secret, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Liquid, and Rogue from the Pro League. What makes this lineup interesting is that for many of these teams, season nine was unkind in different ways.

For teams like Liquid, NiP, and CHAOS, season nine saw their chances at Milan snuffed out by a mere point or two—no doubt heightening their collective thirst for victory. Depending on how Team Secret and Rise Nation’s relegation matches go this week, they’ll also be looking to prove themselves in June.

Soniqs, Team Vitality, 92 Dream Team, and Disrupt Gaming are all coming to this event from the Challenger League. Disrupt lost to Soniqs last week in the semifinals of the Challenger League, which has to sting considering how close Disrupt came to a slot in the Pro League. The stakes for Soniqs and 92 Dream Team in the Vegas Minor will be determined after their matchup tonight, which decides who will move up to the NA division of the Pro League.

Given that many of these teams have met before, or will meet this week during relegation matches, the Vegas Minor is set to be a high-stakes tournament for pride. It remains to be seen what will come of the pro teams in danger of relegation, but either way, squads will be looking to prove a point in this tournament.

The Allied Esports Vegas Minor will take place from June 7 to 9. Fans looking for ticket and venue information can visit the official Ubisoft website.
