Shanghai Dragons reveals Overwatch League roster

The eight-man roster will compete in Blizzard's Overwatch League.

Shanghai Dragons’ eight-man Overwatch League roster has been revealed.

The first team to reveal its Overwatch League branding announced its full roster on Oct. 31. The Shanghai Dragons are DPS players Chao “Undead” Fang and Weida “Diya” Lu, tank players Dongjian “MG” Wu, Wenhao “Roshan” Jing, and Junjie “Xushu” Liu, support players Zhaoyu “Fiveking” Chen and Yage “Altering” Cheng, and flex player Peixuan “Freefeel” Xu.

The players come from a number of different Overwatch teams, including Vici Gaming, LGD Gaming, FTD Club, 1246, and Invictus Gaming.

“The Shanghai Dragons are proud to take part in the Overwatch League with an elite roster of Chinese players,” the organization said in a statement. “They are all Chinese citizens and will be proudly wearing the logo that was, like the player roster, designed to emphasize the spirit and community of China. The whole team is well prepared to showcase the profession of competitive gaming on the global stage, and the mission also aims to promote Chinese esports talents at the same time.”

Shanghai Dragons will make their Overwatch League debut when the tournament series’ preseason exhibition matches begin on Dec. 6. The Overwatch League’s regular season is scheduled to begin on Jan. 10 and continue throughout 2018.

As the Overwatch League’s roster lock period comes to a close today, more roster announcements are expected in the coming days.
