The Junkertown Queen’s voice will return in an upcoming patch

Guess it was just a bug, huh?

Now that Wrecking Ball—also known as Hammond—is here, we can stop speculating that the Junkertown Queen is the next Overwatch hero… for now.

As such, developers at Blizzard have confirmed that the Queen’s missing voice on the Junkertown Overwatch map will be added back into the game “in a future patch.” Overwatch writer Michael Chu posted on the game’s forum that he’s not sure what the exact time frame for the fix is, however.

Fans started speculating that the Junkertown Queen’s missing voice on the Australian outback Overwatch map was a hint that she was, indeed, the next hero being added to the game. A poster of her was seen in the Hammond teasers, too—but all of it ended up pointing to Hammond.

Hammond is associated with Junkertown and its Queen, actually. When he crash landed on Earth after escaping the moon with Winston, Hammond started battling in Junkertown’s Scrapyard, using a mech he created using his escape pod. Apparently, no one knew he was a hamster inside the mech, despite him being crowned the champion of the battle arena.

The hamster hero was confirmed as Overwatch’s next addition on June 28. Blizzard hasn’t said when the little guy will make his way over into the live game, but it’s expected he’ll stay on the test server for at least a few weeks. Maybe we can expect the Junkertown Queen’s voice to make its way back to the game then, too.
