Lee “claris” Keon-ho has been released from the European Overwatch team, Laser Kittenz announced on Twitter. “After receiving interest from teams already in the Overwatch League, claris has communicated his desire to pursue those tryout opportunities,” Laser Kittenz said. “As such, we have decided to release him and wish him the best in his future.”

Laser Kittenz other South Korean Overwatch player, Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom was released from the team earlier this week, citing ongoing injury and language issues. This week’s departures brings the Overwatch squad down to six players.

The organization intends to pursue “the full scope of our opportunities within the Overwatch League,” according to the announcement. Overwatch League is the end goal for many Overwatch teams and players, and that remains the same for Laser Kittenz.

“It has been our goal to stick together as a unit, and replicate everything that you love about Laser Kittenz on the biggest stage of all. We will continue pursuing this while we discuss plans moving forward,” the statement said.

Laser Kittenz will participate in Overwatch Contenders season one, which begins the week of Aug. 14 with six weeks of online Overwatch play. An offline finals event will close out the tournament in October. The team placed third in the Overwatch Contenders season zero, falling to tournament champions eUnited in the semifinals. Laser Kittenz will be joined by Team Singularity, 123, Rest in Pyjamas, Bazooka Puppiez, and Misfits. Movistar Riders also qualified for season one, but have since disbanded.

The organization expects to release more information “soon.”
