Cheating Overwatch players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, beware. A reporting system is finally coming to console.

Jeff Kaplan confirmed on the Overwatch forum the reporting system will be available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when Patch 1.14 arrives. Kaplan did not give an expected timeline for the patch’s release.

In July, Kaplan posted to the forum stating the system is “extremely challenging” to develop, as they must work outside the Overwatch game client and in conjunction with Sony and Microsoft. Despite it being a priority for Blizzard—especially as bad behavior was making Overwatch hard to enjoy at times on console—it was a process that needed time.

“It’s important to note the reporting system and punishments are very much an ongoing development for us,” Kaplan wrote. “Improvements will continue over time. We are working on increased punishments for high frequency offenders, email notifications when your reports result in disciplinary action (we’re experimenting with this right now and we’ll expand this as we refine it) and eventually notifications in the game client when your report results in disciplinary action.”

Kaplan didn’t mention how the report system will work on console, but it’s likely it’s similar to the report feature on PC. Blizzard revamped its reporting system in March, allowing players to choose specific and detailed reasons for reporting bad behavior in-game.

When Patch 1.14 does release Overwatch players will also receive a new Overwatch map, Château Guillard, as well as two new Arcade modes, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. The earliest we can expect the patch is next week, but nothing is confirmed at this point.
