Riot Games is bringing 24 of the best Teamfight Tactics players together for the next global tournament, Teamfight Tactics: Fates Championship. The Fates Championship is set to take place April 7 through April 9, with players competing over a $250,000 prize pool. Regional qualifiers for the upcoming championship are already underway across the globe. Players have several ways to qualify for the finals, including ladder snapshots, the qualifier points system, and other open qualifier events. The participating regions and their competition ladders are showcased below: North American players can still qualify, though time is running short. Riot Games is hosting the last TFT NA Qualifier 4, from February 26 through February 28. Players who are unable to compete in the Qualifier Series can still qualify through the Liquid Fates Last Chance Open Qualifier. This goes ahead March 1 through March 5. Finally, the TFT Fates NA Regional Finals will take place across two weekends on March 6-7 and March 12-13.
Teamfight Tactics: Fates Championship changes
Riot Games is looking to change up the format of the Teamfight Tactics: Fates Championship, adapting a new three-day Swiss structure. Day 1 starts with 24 participants, sorted by regional qualifier performance. The top 16 players will move onto Day 2, and the top eight from there, onto Day 3. In the final round, the top eight players will race to gain the most points. The first player who earns 18 points will be the Teamfight Tactics Fates Champion. Teamfight Tactics quickly established itself as one of the more popular titles that Riot Games has released. To reflect the growing popularity of the game, Riot Games increased the prize pool by $50,000 and increased the number of participants since the Galaxies Championship. “Teamfight Tactics continues to be one of our fastest-growing titles due to its accessibility and depth,” said Whalen Rozelle, Sr. Director of Esports at Riot Games. “To meet the massive demand for organized competition, for the Fates Championship we increased both the prize pool and the number of players who can qualify for the event. We also will explore new ways to further celebrate the esport globally.” Check back to Daily Esports for news on Teamfight Tactics and more.
