One of the top teams in the North American League of Legends Championship Series will not be able to field its AD Carry in tonight’s series.
CLG’s Trevor “stixxay” Hayes will be watching the team’s LCS games from a hospital bed this week as a result of “a medical emergency” according to the team.
While the exact nature of the situation wasn’t described in the announcement, it appears that the medical emergency in question occurred towards the night on March 24. Stixxay himself tweeted that he will be watching today’s series against Immortals from his hospital bed, which hopefully means the AD carry won’t be out of commission for an extended period.
Longtime CLG support player Zaqueri “aphromoo” Black will be filling in the AD carry role in tonight’s matches against Immortals, while substitute player Joseph “Joey” Haslemann will play at support.
Currently in fourth place in the NA LCS’ overall standings, CLG has looked increasingly impressive in its last three matches. Suffering only one loss to Dignitas at the beginning of the seventh week of play, the fan favorites have won their three last matches against Cloud9, Echo Fox, and FlyQuest.
Aside from the series against Immortals, CLG will be playing in the last scheduled game of the NA LCS Spring Split against EnVyUs tomorrow—the current inhabitants of the league’s bottom spot.
