Orisa is ready to go in Overwatch competitive play

One week after her release on live servers, Orisa is now available to play in Competitive.

After a week-long gestation period on live servers following three weeks of testing on the PTR, Overwatch‘s newest hero, Orisa, is finally available to play in the game’s Competitive ladder.

Even after her lengthy testing process, Orisa is still brand new when it comes to the Overwatch meta, and she is yet to find her exact niche in the pro scene. Since her release, she has seen very little time in tournament play.

George “Hyped” Maganzini of Immortals used her for a few pushes earlier this week during the Overwatch Carbon Series playoffs, and while he found some success with her, it was pretty short-lived.

With most teams playing extremely aggressive “dive” compositions, it seems as though Orisa has yet to find a real foothold in pro play, but the game’s Competitive ladder could be a different story altogether. She can be especially strong when paired with Reinhardt or other shielding tanks.

With Overwatch’s fourth season of Competitive Play well underway, Orisa may have the power to shake things up if used in a way that accents her strengths.
