Jason “Moses” O’Toole is no longer the Team Liquid Counter-Strike: Global Offensive head coach, the organization announced May 3. It is unknown why Moses has stepped down from his position. Moses joined the CS:GO roster as a coach after Eric “adreN” Hoag left the organization in August, 2020. Now after just nine months, the caster-turned-coach is departing the team.
Moses leaves behind a slightly improved Liquid
Despite staying for just nine months, Team Liquid only has praise for Moses. The team was considered to be in an upward swing and was preparing for the first Regional Major Ranking tournament of the year. “Moses, you were a rock for the team when we most needed it, an amazing communicator with the TLCS fam, and an endless source of energy for the squad,” Team Liquid said on Twitter. “Thank you for everything you gave to us and continue giving to the CS community.”
Today we say farewell to @MosesGG.

Moses’ first challenge was to streamline a new starting roster with the acquisition of Michael “Grim” Wince. Then, shortly after IEM Global Challenge in December, he had to work with yet another replacement, as Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo joined the team in place of Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken. Despite all this, Moses managed a second-place finish at IEM Global Challenge and a bronze medal at IEM Katowice with Team Liquid. These high placements is something the team struggled with throughout 2020. He leaves behind an improved team, but one that is also still trying to find its footing properly.
What’s next?
No replacement for Moses has been announced yet, nor has Moses said what’s next for him. The community looks to be excited about getting him back as a caster, though. Regardless of the outcome, Team Liquid seems to be in a struggle with themselves to remain a consistent presence, both in results and in team composition. HLTV has reported that former coach adreN will return to the team.
