The Hunt for the Jadeite Orb is one of the many side quests you can take on when you reach the Checkpoint Rest Town in Dragon’s Dogma 2. While it’s not as difficult as the others in-game, it does allow you to make a choice that affects the ending of the quest.
This choice comes down to who to give the Jadeite Orb to, Offulve or Everard. Both are merchants looking for the orb, but they are in drastically different circumstances. Everard is a part of a mysterious organization that wanted the Jadeite Orb back after they stole it while Offulve is looking to use the orb to secure his freedom from that same organization.
The outcome of the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest entirely depends on who you give the orb, so check out the guide below to see what happens in both scenarios.
Give the Jadeite Orb to Offulve in DD2
First up is Offulve, a beastren who is enslaved by an organization and needs the orb to be free. If you give the Jadeite Orb to Offulve, he will thank you vigorously and use the orb to secure his freedom. In exchange for your efforts, you’ll be rewarded with an Elite Camping Kit, 1,000 XP, and 3,000 gold. After the orb is given, the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest is complete.
Giving the Jadeite Orb to Everard in DD2
On the other hand, if you give the Jadeite Orb to Everard, you are essentially signing the death sentence of Offulve. Everard’s organization no longer has a use for him, as he failed to deliver the orb to them.
However, Everard is grateful you were able to deliver the orb and gives you the Ring of Skullduggery and 12,000 gold for your efforts. He also says his organization might call upon you again in the future for more work. Unfortunately for Offulve, he says he needs to go on the run if you talk to him after delivering the orb to Everard.
Who should you give the Jadeite Orb to?
Your decision with the Jadeite Orb comes down to your morals. If you simply want the best rewards in DD2, then you should give the orb to Everard. This also means you might get future quests in the future from Everard’s organization.
However, if your character is playing with morals in the slightest, then you likely want to give the orb to Offulve. This secures his safety and freedom and also doesn’t reward Everard, who doesn’t seem like the best of people.
