Dino PC, a UK based computer company, is starting their own Overwatch league. With all the hype around this game right now, people all over the world are jumping on a chance to get some sort of league started and draw players in. It also helps get the name of said company out there to the fans of Overwatch. Dino PC has done just that.

This will be an open tournament where any team in the UK can participate. The main part of the tournament will be held online, with 32 team slots currently available. These 32 teams will play in a group stage with four teams per group, with the group stage of the tournament set to take place on Sept. 23.

The top two teams form each group move on to day two of the tournament. Day two of the tournament, which will be Sept. 30, will go to a bracket style tournament, leaving the final two teams for the grand final. The grand final of the tournament will then be hosted as a LAN event in London on Oct. 8 at the Dino PC Headquarters.

The UK esports scene is in a slight slump lately, so everyone is doing their best to try to get people to come out to events. The initial online phase of this tournament is set to start this Friday. The prize pool has been announced at a decent $5,000, which isn’t too bad for an event that is just starting out fresh.

The prize pool will break down as follows:

  • 1st Place – $3,500
  • 2nd Place – $1,500
  • 3rd Place – $500

For more information on this tournament, and for a chance to sign up, just go to this website. It would be a great opportunity for any UK Overwatch teams trying to make a name for themselves.
