Best areas to farm legendary items in the Diablo 4 beta

With Diablo 4 finally playable, players have noticed that there are some spots to farm legendary loot to help your character grow stronger. The open beta just began, stretching over to the end of the weekend on Mar. 26, 2023. Just keep in mind, the loot you collect in the beta will not carry over to the game’s release. Either way, the loot strategy and locations should remain the same, so use it as practice.

Best farm locations for legendary items in Diablo 4

Here are a couple of cool spots that the community has already found from the closed and open beta.

Kor Vos

Out of all the possible spots on the expansive Diablo 4 map, one spot in particular is already known for an event that, after completion, has a good chance of rewarding players with legendary loot. This spot is to the northeast of Kyovashad, on the northern side of the Frigid Expanse.

This area, known as Kor Vos, has a Word Event within it. While this area is a little far from the closest fast-travel spots, you will have a way to come back easily. Simply go there and either fight alone or with friends, complete the event and get the chest at the end. But, to farm the event, simply head back to town and wait there for a short time. After only a couple of seconds, coming back to Kor Vos should reset the event and the loot you’d receive at the end. If it doesn’t work, just keep trying, it should eventually reset. Take this location with a grain of salt, however, as it seems that with the changing spots of World Events, Kor Vos isn’t as strong as it was in the closed beta.

Animus Dungeons are your best bet

This covers a wide variety of spots, but the Animus Dungeons you can find all over the map in Diablo 4 have the best chance to drop good loot. Not only are they a max level dungeon for the open beta at level 25, but the completion of specific dungeons can be done relatively quickly. For example, the Dead Man’s Dredge dungeon at the south of the Gale Valley is a great dungeon to farm for strong loot.

Just by skipping and dodging the early enemies and focus on killing the Animus Carriers, as they have a higher Legendary drop rate than most enemies do.

A strong enemy for mostly overleved rewards

Last but not least, the community has already found a particularly strong enemy in Diablo 4 that can not only drop level 25 legendary loot, but also even higher level loot. In the eastern part of Kyovashad, in the southern part of The Pallid Glade, there is a particular alcove with a strong elite. This particular enemy is level 35, stronger than most in the beta. This elite known as “Wrathful” Osgar Reede will most likely kill you even if you kill him, as he emits a powerful area-of-effect ability on death.

However, with the increased legendary drop rate and high level, this unit can drop level 25 legendary items more often than most other places in the game so far. Of course, items from the beta don’t carry over to the release, so that level 35 legendary item won’t get much use if you get it in the open beta. When the game releases, you already know of a strong enemy with a high legendary drop rate.
