Origen loses two more players and their head coach, leaving only xPeke on the roster

Yoo “NaeHyun” Nae-hyun and Jacob “Cinkrof” Rokicki, Origen’s mid laner and jungler, are the last to depart from the Spanish League of Legends team, according to a post on the official Origen Facebook page. Titus “LeDuck” Hafner, the team’s head coach, does not intend to renew his contract either.

After both Erik “Tabzz” van Helvert and Max “Satorius” Günther, the team’s ADC and top laner, announced their departure, it seemed it was only a matter of time before the rest followed suit. Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez, the team’s owner, is the only remaining member on the roster. They will be holding tryouts soon to field the rest of the team to take on the EU Challenger series.

Cinkrof was only been on the team since last month, but perhaps his early departure shouldn’t come as a shock considering recent controversies. Origen were just fined nearly $11,000 for breaching German employment laws, including failure to establish proper payment structures. Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider, the team’s former jungler, took to Facebook on Monday to provide his fans with insight into the team’s subpar environment and the poor treatment of its players.

If Origen intends to climb through the Challenger Series to reclaim its place in the LCS, the company is going to need more than just a roster full of good players. The team will need some serious reform to bring stability, support, and an overall healthier atmosphere for its members.
