This year’s PROJECT skins for Vi, Vayne, and Jhin arrived on the PBE yesterday, and since the PROJECT skin series is one of the most popular sets in the game, it makes sense that everyone is so excited for them. There’s another reason to be excited, though.
For the first time since the beginning of the PROJECT skin series with Yasuo in 2014, the PROJECT event is getting its own game mode, according to assets loaded onto the PBE yesterday.
Take a look at PROJECT: Overcharge, a three-vs-three, ADC-only deathmatch on a brand new PROJECT-themed map named Substructure 43.
The simple objective of the game is to be the first team to reach 50 points. How do you earn points? Simple—by killing champions. One kill equals one point, and if you’re Overcharged—this game’s version of “god mode”—you earn five points per kill instead.
While Overcharged, you gain a superbuff. Your movement speed, cooldown reduction, size, and mana regeneration are massively increased, and you reset all ability cooldowns each time you kill someone. To become Overcharged, your team must collect Augmentation Fragments from the map’s neutral baddies. The map also has a variety of fun environmental tools to work around, like teleportation pads and blast nodes.
There are 17 total champions playable in this event, and they’re all ADCs. They are:
- Ashe
- Caitlyn
- Corki
- Draven
- Ezreal
- Graves
- Jhin
- Jinx
- Kalista
- Kog’Maw
- Lucian
- Miss Fortune
- Sivir
- Tristana
- Varus
- Vayne
- Xayah
