On Nov. 24, Fnatic AD Carry Martin ‘Rekkles‘ Larsson officially moved to Alliance in one of the most high profile transfers in European League of Legends. That’s left his former teammates with one rather large pair of shoes to fill.

Rather than turn to established talent, however, it looks like the team are ready to repeat history by bringing in another up rand coming talent: Jesper “Niels xD” Svenningsen.

Svenningsen, who turned 17 in June, has had several trials with other teams, including Gambit Gaming. But nothing seems to have clicked in the past. Now the young player is being endorsed by some of the biggest names in Europe as they make a bid to rebuild their roster.

“Niels has impressed the guys in Fnatic and Xpeke thinks he is going to be amazing” one source close to the players told us. “It’s a move that will surprise some people but everyone knows he’s the best AD carry in Challenger by far.”

The only thing that isn’t clear is whether the team being assembled will be playing under the Fnatic banner. Sources close to the organisation inform the Daily Dot that Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez and Lauri “Cyanide” Happonen have still not completely made up their minds about their future.

Following internal disagreements, it looked like the players were ready to leave the organization and create their own. Larsson’s move to Alliance was a step in the right direction, however. And while reconciliation looks increasingly likely, there is still a chance the players may leave through the buy-out clauses in their contracts.Whatever happens though, Svenningsen will be playing alongside those players.

“Niels will be a Fnatic player as long as the big boys stay in the team” our source confirmed. “Whatever happens though he will follow them everywhere.”
