Last week, Bae spoke with top North American team Cloud9 about playing for the team. Those talks concluded very quickly after “big money swooped in from China,” a source told the Daily Dot.

Sources with knowledge of the transfer say Bae was offered a yearly salary of 1.5 Million Yuan ($250,000), several-fold what Cloud9 was looking to spend.

Details on the move are murky. Sources say Bae will either play for Team King or Snake.Q, two teams qualified for the League of Legends Pro League in China.

Bae’s former team, Samsung Blue, lost 0-3 in the World Championship semifinals to sister team and eventual champions of the tournament Samsung White.
