When you think of CLG’s struggles this past split, and in their past as a whole, it’s with choking, and not rising to the competition. Specifically in the mid lane, these struggles plague CLG again and again. When you bring up possible replacements, the list is quite small. With Incarnation basically a lock for C9, your list shortens to Pobelter, and maybe some outside the NA talent like, Selfie, etc. The one name that stands out to me, is Alex Ich. People often use words like “washed” or “not in his prime” when describing Alex these days, but as he showed when filling in for TDK, he has regained some of his legendary form. Placing Alex in a line up, with a top 3 bottom lane, and a solid top laner, that at times shows the ability to be quite dominant, you all of a sudden have a scary team. Jungler is an area that I think could use a replacement, and you do not have to look far to find the perfect replacement in Crumbz. Alex and Crumbz have been forming their synergy on the Challenger team Misfits for a little while now, and you often see them in Solo que, duoing. From a mental, and communication standpoint, their may be problems in this team, cause this does form quite a personality heavy roster. At worst, this team becomes top 3 in NA, with the talent to stand up to TSM, and inevitably C9 next split, but the upside is, possibly having a CLG EU type god squad, that may be able to compete at the Worlds Stage. All 5 of these guys, would not have the mental weakness to back down and crumble to greater competition, like you often see the CLG mid laner and jungler do in the past. CLG fans should be really pressing that this is the team change that is made, cause in my personal opinion it makes way too much sense, in all aspects of the game. I will add, that finding a coach for this team in particular would be quite tough due to the veteran presence all of these players have. The goal would be to find a more analyst eccentric supporting staff to surround these guys with, in hopes that it lightens their load in terms of pick n bans, and helps them more focus just on scrims and solo que, as opposed to watching hours of LPL and LCK to see what other talented players are doing.Â
