With Ragnaros the Firelord leaving Standard and still enough insects to kill, the Firelord is sending us his trusty weapon Sulfuras to get the job done. The Warrior quest is one of the most fun ones that have been released and with a hero power that deals 8 random damage to play around with, we definitely are looking forward to trying out the card.
We included most of the Control Warrior core into this build and there are some great cards that we are all accustomed to. With sufficient armor gain, weapons and minion removal thrown in, the Quest hero power is definitely going to be fun to use with taunts protecting you from face damage at all times.
Let’s take a look at some of the new cards we’ve put into this decklist.
Tar Lord: It is essentially a supersized taunt on your opponent’s turn and the 5/11 stats can definitely deal with pretty much any small to mid-range minion that your opponent might have in his deck. It is a very well designed card and there are plenty more of such cards that follow similar interactions in this expansion.
Direhorn Hatchling: It is one of the most powerful cards you can run if you are solely focused on completing your quest, then this is the card to run because of its Taunt effect and the fact that it puts in a very powerful Taunt minion into your deck that you can play on a later turn. It can be a really good card to play in slower matchups because of the added card advantage in fatigue games.
fire-plumes-heart: The quest that allows you to wield Ragnaros’ weapon Sulfuras. It’s a very fun –centric card and even if Taunt Warrior is not a super viable deck, it’s definitely going to be a lot of fun dealing 8 random damage to enemy minions or simply pressuring your opponent with 8 face damage that can close out the game very quickly. The hero power change is permanent and your opponent can’t really do anything about it except face the Firelord’s wrath every turn!
Ornery Direhorn: An Adapt themed taunt for the mid game that can potentially get better stats or effects like Divine Shield, Poisonous etc that can make the taunt a lot more powerful than its base stats.
We hope you enjoy smiting some insects with Sulfuras in the new expansion, and we fully intend to do the same. We hope to see you soon with more brews coming daily before the release of Journey to Un’Goro!
