Harald “Powder” Gimre and Jan “Faramir” Engelmann will announce today that they are no longer competing under Trig’s banner. The team’s third player, Daniel “DTwo” Ikuta, was unavailable for comment. He was the only player still displaying the Trig sponsorship on his stream and social media at publication time.

The players were not willing to comment on the Aug. 4 Daily Dot story on the unpaid salaries. But Gimre told the Daily Dot that unfulfilled promises were a big part of his decision to leave.

“I’m leaving because I’m looking for something more cohesive.” Gimre told the Daily Dot. “Trig had big ambitions, but nothing happened. I want security.”

One of these major broken promises was the claim that Trig had signed an agreement with Swedish organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas. The players had been told this was a done deal prior to signing and that they would be playing under the Ninjas in Pyjamas name. This never happened. Ninjas in Pyjamas had reportedly turned down every previous opportunity to invest in Hearthstone.

Update 8:44am CT, Aug. 6: Daniel “DTwo” Ikuta tells the Daily Dot he also plans to leave the team.
