The Marvel vs. Capcom series is known for its crazy combos and wild styles, and few characters better represent the trademark speed and fury of the games than Firebrand.
While he’s never been a particularly popular character in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Firebrand’s unique abilities and lightning-fast combo extensions have always made him both a thread and a crowd-pleaser—assuming he’s in the right hands.
And few players have proven as capable of wielding the crimson gargoyle as Vineeth “Apologyman” Meka, as his new combo video so capable demonstrates.
But Meka’s moves aren’t all flash and sizzle. The player most known for his exploits in Marvel vs. Capcom and BlazBlue, respectively, managed to capture a major title at Socal Regionals in 2014. He even did it in style, defeating arguably the world’s best player in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Ryan “Filipino Champ” Ramirez in the grand final.
The Marvel vs. Capcom series has shifted a bit further into the shadows following Capcom’s delivery of a $500,000 prize pool to its Street Fighter pro tour, but so long as players like Vineeth are around, there will be no shortage of excitement available to fans who still find themselves asking, “When’s Marvel?”
