Here’s why Fortnite servers are not responding during v31.20 update

Welcome to Lost Isles.

Fortnite is gearing up for one of the biggest LEGO Fortnite updates since the Star Wars collaboration. Don’t worry, though; even if you’re not interested in LEGO Fortnite, there’s plenty to look forward to once you log in.

Here’s why Fortnite servers aren’t responding during the v31.20 update.

Why are Fortnite servers down?

Fortnite servers are down because Epic Games is rolling out the v.31.20 update featuring Lost Isles in LEGO Fortnite. The update adds a whole new area to LEGO Fortnite for you to explore, filled with new biomes, POIs, and even friendly Klombos. The update comes with the new LEGO Pass that you can progress to unlock Peely-themed buildings and decorations.

Outside of LEGO Fortnite, expect to see more Marvel Battle Royale quests, the return of the Marvel LTM, Iron Man Mythics, The Incredibles cosmetics, and more.

When will Fortnite servers be back up?

According to the Epic Games Public Status website, the downtime for the v31.20 update started on Sept. 17 at 3 am CT and is expected to last until 6am CT. Keep in mind that the update may arrive slightly earlier or later. To stay on top of the delays, periodically check the Epic Games Public Status website and the Fortnite Status X account.

During the downtime, you can download the update before the servers go back up. Keep your device or Epic Games Store on to download it and jump in as soon as possible. It’s one of the biggest LEGO Fortnite updates since the Star Wars collaboration, so be prepared for longer queue times than usual.
