Fly Explosives LTM and Guided Missile arrive in Fortnite 5.10 content update

Check out what is included in this patch.

Fortnite: Battle Royale’s 5.10 content update has gone live, and it has brought back a vaulted weapon and added a new Limited Time Mode.

The Guided Missile and Fly Explosives LTM are here, and it appears those two features are the main components of today’s Fortnite: Battle Royale update. While the weapon and LTM are huge news, it should also be noted the recently-buffed Slurp Juice has been re-enabled as well.

The Guided Missile is available in Epic and Legendary variants, but the structure and player damage has been severely decreased since originally being in the game.

For example, the player damage floated above 100 when it was introduced more than four months ago, but it has since been reduced to the mid-70s. The structure damage nerf is a much bigger hit, however, with the weapon receiving a 700-point decrease after dropping from 1100 to 400.

The damage points were not the only things changed—the reload time was slightly increased, movement speed decreased, the fuse duration was reduced, and the explosions now can damage structures with “no regard for Line of Sight,” according to the official patch notes.

The Fly Explosives LTM is a game mode described as one that, “combines the explosive fun of the High Explosives LTM and the vaulted Limited Time Item Jetpack. Take to the skies and blast everyone else back to the lobby!”

As one could expect, the LTM will feature explosive weapons only and the Jetpack, which was very polarizing in its time in the game with some Floor Loot spawners giving away the item. The Jetpack saw a slight increase in its fuel regeneration in this LTM, too. There’s not much more to the game mode other than the storm wait times being reduced to speed up the games—Epic says an average match should be shorter than 20 minutes.

The popular Playground LTM also saw some new additions, introducing the Jetpack, Guided Missile, and Crossbow which hadn’t been seen since it was vaulted on May 1 in the 4.0 update.

In addition to the Battle Royale additions, Fortnite: Save the World players will be able to get their hands on the Spyglass Sniper Rifle, which will be made available for one week starting on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 7pm CT.
