After beating Na’Vi in the elimination round, J Storm was looking to keep their run going by taking down Mineski, who lost to LGD Gaming in the upper bracket.

Things got heated fast as J Storm took the lead and held a big advantage through mid-game. Mineski continued the trend of strong Morphling as Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son tried to lead his team back into the game.

J Storm managed to hold on for the game one victory, but Mineski wouldn’t let the series go without another fight. Mineski was outpaced again in the opening minutes, but fought back and defended their upper levels extremely well.

That defense couldn’t last against J Storm’s onslaught as they eventually pushed through. With their 2-0 victory, J Storm survived another day with their opponent in the next round about to be decided as Team Secret took on Infamous Gaming.

Secret was knocked into losers despite being one of the most dominant squads all season in the Dota Pro Circuit. Their loss to the red-hot Vici Gaming landed them in a battle with Infamous, a relatively unproven South American squad.

The SA team found some kills and gained some ground early on in the series, but Secret turned things back on the newer team and started exposing some glaring flaws in their play. Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng turned things around from his poor showing in the upper bracket to help his team secure game one.

Infamous couldn’t slow down anything Secret did in game two, which culminated in a nearly 17k lead in gold and a quick 2-0 win for the top-ranked team.

J Storm and Secret will face off on March 20, but round two of the lower bracket isn’t finished yet. Evil Genuises and Ninjas in Pyjamas will battle March 19 at 7:30am CT, with only one team moving on to the next round.
