“Our company was founded out of an immense passion for Counter-Strike,” StarLadder head of business development Alexander Chegrinez said in the organization’s announcement. “Our very first tournaments many years ago started with CS. This game was and remains as a critical part of who we are, we grew up with it, and couldn’t be more excited. It is a great honor for us to host the 15th anniversary Major in such a stunning venue, and for such an incredible community. We will do our best to impress the fans and deliver a truly memorable Major.”

Below are the dates for the biggest stages of the event.

  • July 17 to 21: Europe and Americas Minors
  • July 24 to 28: CIS and Asia Minors
  • July 29: Minor Play-in
  • Aug. 20 to 25: Challengers Stage
  • Aug. 27 to Sept. 1: Legends Stage
  • Sept. 5 to 8: Champions Stage

This is the first Valve-sponsored tournament that StarLadder will host. In past years, tournament organizers such as ESL, ELEAGUE, PGL, and FACEIT had the opportunity to host Majors in different destinations around the world, like Katowice, London, Boston, Atlanta, and Krakow. StarLadder is known for its StarSeries events, which are typically hosted in Ukraine, featuring best-of-three group stages and playoff brackets.

More information on the Berlin Major will likely be announced as the event approaches in the coming months.
